In keeping with the Sour Mash tradition, options include 2 best net balls of 4/play your own ball or scramble format.

The 2023 Honored Philanthropy will be The Ross Foundation. We will be honoring the legacy of community impact that the late Sam Ross made and simultaneously celebrating the recent opening of Discovery World on Market, a multi-million-dollar interactive children’s museum launched with funding from the Ross Foundation.

It’s time to dress up as Santa Claus or don your best ugly sweater and enjoy a holiday-spirited bar crawl in downtown Marietta!

Downtown’s DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) will be active and downtown bars will offer food and drink specials, themed cocktails, and more.

This event is a collaboration between the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley and Marietta Main Street.
The first 200 to register will receive a Christmas can koozie and Christmas accessories to wear during the event.

The event kicks off with a delicious lunch in a reserved room at DaVinci's. Then, pick up your shopping passport and spend the day visiting eight local retail businesses. Later, wrap it all up with a stroll through the Festival of Trees at the Blennerhassett Hotel.

Get your passport stamped at each location for the chance to win a gift basket filled with goodies from each participating business. (Passports need to be turned in at the Blennerhassett Hotel by 5:30 PM to be entered into the drawing.)

Plus, the shopper with the most festive Christmas outfit will win a $100 cash prize!

October is National Book Month!

All month long, we will be collecting new books to donate to our area domestic violence shelters because it is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The United Way team kicked it off by purchasing copies of our favorite books. We are inviting all of you to add to the donation collection by purchasing a copy (or 5!) of your favorite book!
You can drop your books off at our office or ship it directly to us.

Crosstown Showdown!

School is back and session and we're celebrating big time! For 2021, we're teaming up with our friends from the McClinton Chevrolet to bring back the Crosstown Showdown!

That's right, the annual game between The Parkersburg High School and the Parkersburg South Patriots will have an extra level of competition.

We're collecting hygiene items for each school's pantry. (Soap, Shampoo, Paper Towels, etc.) When you enter the game you will have two vehicles to choose from. One for South and one for PHS. Whichever school has the most donations by halftime wins the trophy!

Monetary donations will also be accepted and count towards the total.

August First Friday: Art Walk with Marietta Main Street

This month, Marietta Main Street celebrates the art community in Marietta and beyond by highlighting public art, local art groups, local artists, art galleries, and more.

Each First Friday features Kid Central on the lawn of the Armory thanks to the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley and an arts tent thanks to Artsbridge, providing a focus on various artists and artforms. Make sure to swing by!

Downtown First Friday events take place the first Friday of every month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. January through December. Highlights of these events include shops open late, local artists and musicians, area organizations, and various happenings tied into the theme of the First Friday.
